"Why Buy A Bedding Dispenser?"

1. Productivity:   Much less time will be required to bed each cage, and two cages can be filled at one time. Coupled with the ergonomic considerations mentioned below, dramatic increases in productivity are possible.

2. Repeatability:   Every cage gets the same amount of bedding. Once the machine is properly set up, no operator-specific variations in bedding depth will ever occur.

3. Elimination of waste:  All bedding goes into the cages, or returns to the hopper for recycling. All of the bedding will find its way into cages, with no waste whatsoever.

4. Health and Safety:  There are several issues here: repetitive motion, dust, facility cleanliness, working posture and the lifting of heavy objects.

4.1. Repetitive Motion: It is advisable to reduce or eliminate repetitive motions on the part of employees, especially involving the wrist and over-hung type of loads to the wrist, wherever possible. Filling cages with a scoop, from a bag, involves both of these worst cases.

4.2. Dust:   Although the nature of the dust from most types of bedding is not particularly toxic or objectionable, the use of a properly ventilated dispenser virtually eliminates the breathing by employees of this dust.

4.3. Cleanliness:  Again, with the dispenser, no dust. Not only is no clean up required, no slippery or unsafe surfaces are created at any stage. When the cages are being filled from a bag on the floor, tipping of the bag and subsequent mess is a daily danger.

4.4. Working Posture: Employees are not bending to scoop into the bag of bedding when using the dispenser.
4.5. Heavy Lifting:  Although bags of bedding must be lifted and dumped into the dispenser, employees suited to this task can handle several bags in one fill procedure, so that less physically able operators will not be required to wrestle bags into place.

Summary: Bedding cages is physically uncomfortable, repetitive and messy work. A bedding dispenser dramatically reduces the unfavorable impact of the job, improving facility cleanliness, safety and employee morale.
